Privacy policy

This page explains how MeowQuant treats your privacy. The short version: we're a purely static information site and barely touch your personal data. Here are the details, laid out.

We don't actively collect your personal information

MeowQuant is a static website — the pages you see are pre-built files, with no registration, no login, no comment box, no form asking you to fill in details. We don't ask for your name, phone number, email, identity information, or any account or fund information. In other words, browsing this site normally, you don't need to — and can't — submit any personal information to us.

The one exception: if you write to us at [email protected] on your own initiative, then what you write in the email (including your email address) does of course reach us. That information is used only to reply to this enquiry of yours; we won't use it for anything else.

On-site tools compute in your browser and don't upload

This site's tools (such as the grid parameter estimator, the fee calculator and the API permission self-check) all run in your own browser. The numbers and parameters you enter are used in the computation only on your device, and the result shows up right in front of you — it isn't sent to our servers, and isn't collected or stored by us. Close the page and those inputs are gone. We can't see what you calculated.

Cookies and local storage

This site doesn't use advertising or marketing Cookies to track you. We may use the browser's local storage (localStorage) to remember a few purely local preferences — such as whether you've dismissed the disclosure bar at the top. That kind of data lives only in your own browser, isn't uploaded, and can't be used to identify you. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings without affecting normal browsing.

About analytics we might add later

Right now this site has no third-party web analytics. If we later add an analytics service to understand which articles are useful to readers (such as Google Analytics / GA4), we'll update this page clearly to say so: what we added and what anonymous statistics it collects (usually aggregate data like page views, time on page and referral sources, not your personal identity). Until then, this paragraph is a placeholder — the current state is "not added." We won't quietly add it without telling you.

Third-party links (OKX)

This site contains links to OKX, including sign-up links that pass through this site's redirect page /go/okx.html. Once you click these links, leave this site and enter OKX, your browsing and personal information are governed by OKX's own privacy policy and are no longer covered by this one. For how OKX collects and uses your data, please check OKX's privacy terms on its own site. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, third-party sites' privacy practices.

This policy can change

When this site's features or data practices change (such as the analytics mentioned above), we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top along with it. It's worth checking back occasionally.
